Scientific Research Results Regarding Vinegar…

Currently, there is research that strongly suggests that Vinegar can prevent the accumulation of fat cells and prevent weight gain (my favorite research!). The acetic acid levels have shown promising research that Vinegar may help to control blood sugar levels and blood pressure. On average Vinegar has been known to kill up to 82% of molds, 99% of Bacteria and up to 80% of virus causing germs. Your cleaning solution containing Vinegar should contain 5% or more of Vinegar that contains no additives or preservatives for it to have the bacteria, mold & germ fighting & killing properties!

How is Vinegar Made???

It’s a process where sugars turn into alcohol and then turns into vinegar.

Here is a very simple outline of the process…

Only fresh juices with no additives or preservatives are used to make vinegar. The 1st step is to use a gallon glass jug to put the juice in and use an air lock lid for this part of the fermentation process. This is stored at room temperature for 4 to 6 weeks until the sugars have changed into alcohol. When the bubbling process has stopped is when the liquid is ready for the next step. The next step in the fermentation process is to divide liquid into 2 jugs and add the “Mother of Vinegar” (Vinegar already made) 1 part to 4 parts. This step converts the alcohol into acetic acid and requires air exposure. Cover jug openings with a fabric and tie it down to ensure opening is completely covered to keep out dust and insects. This fermentation step takes 3 to 9 months depending on the surface to volume ratio.

Vinegar History

Here is just some of the history on Vinegar that I found........

For thousands of years around the world, Apple Cider Vinegar and White Vinegar have been used to improve health, for cleaning, killing bacteria, removing orders, stains and spot removal.

The Babylonians were 1st to mention the medicinal value of Apple Cider Vinegar around 7000 years ago. History shows them frequently using ACV as a preservative and a condiment.

Throughout the Bible Apple Cider Vinegar is mentioned being used as antiseptic and for all kinds of healing purposes. From the time of Old Testament, laborers then and now sportsmen would use a combination of vinegar, salt and water creating a version of Gatorade. This was used for keeping and maintaining energy levels that had been depleted by sweating under heat of the sun and extreme body exertion.

The Romans and Greek were found to have used ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) for healing purposes and flavoring. The early Romans, Greeks and Asian Physicians are historically known for using ACV to treat such conditions as Bile Reduction, Scurvy, and Digestive Ailments.

History shows that the ancient Persian used a drink of vinegar, lime juice and sour fruit for preventing fatty accumulations in the body.

Hippocrates the Father of Medicine treated and prescribed his patients un-distilled Apple Cider Vinegar as a healing elixir.

Egyptian Urns dating back to 3000BC have traces of ACV. Cleopatra won a bet by dissolving a pearl in Vinegar and drank it to prove she could consume a fortune for a meal.

During the Middle Ages in Paris barrels were sold of ACV on the streets that were used for tonics, deodorants, to keep the body healthy, to make Vinegar drinks, and were also thought to have anti-aging properties. During the Black Plague it is reported that those who breathed through a cloth of soaked with ACV were spared from the Black Plague. Apple Cider Vinegar was also used to cover up the stench of sewage during that time era.

Christopher Columbus along with the majority of Ship Captains used barrels of Vinegars on board their ships for cleaning purposes, tonics and for antiseptic treatments.

Soldiers throughout history have used ACV as a disinfectant for wound healing and scurvy prevention. History shows that Roman soldiers used ACV and fire alternately to break through the Alp Mountains. This process would cause the rocks to heat and then contract making the “Break Through” possible. Before refrigeration was available other means were used to preserve foods. Using Vinegar in the canning process was one way. The other ways were to “Salt” meats and Smoking was the other option.

Japanese history shows that warriors in Japan would consume/drink Apple Cider Vinegar for strength and power.

A hater is someone who is jealous and envious and spends all their time, trying to make you look small so they can look tall.

They are very negative people to say the least. Nothing is ever good enough!

When you make your mark, you will always attract some haters...That’s why you have to be careful with whom you share your blessings and your dreams, because some folk can't handle seeing you blessed... It’s dangerous to be like somebody else...

If the Creator wanted you to be like somebody else, You would have been given what was given to others! Right? You never know what people have gone through to get what they have...

The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but they don’t know my story... If the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, you can rest assured that the water bill is higher there too!

We've all got some haters among us! People envy you because you can:

Be ONE with the CREATOR and ONE with SELF
Light up a room when you walk in
Start your own business
Tell a man / woman to hit the curb (if he / she isn't about the right thing)
Raise your children without both parents being in the home

Haters can't stand to see you happy; Haters will never want to see you succeed; Haters never want you to get the victory, most of our haters are people who are supposed to be on our side! How do you handle your undercover haters?

You can handle these haters by:

1. Knowing who you are & who your true friends are *(VERY IMPORTANT!!)

2. Having a purpose to your life? Purpose does not mean having a job. You can have a job and still be unfulfilled. A purpose is having a clear sense of what the Creator has called you to be. Your purpose is not defined by what others think about you.

3. By remembering what you have is by divine prerogative and not human manipulation.

Fulfill your dreams! You only have one life to live...when it’s your time to leave this earth, you 'want' to be able to say, 'I've lived my life and fulfilled 'my' dreams,... Now I'm ready to go HOME! When the Creator gives you favor, you can tell your haters, 'Don't look at me...Look at Who is in charge of me...'

Watch out for Haters....................BUT most of all don't become a HATER!?

Our Company is a family owned and operated business with three employee's. It was founded and owned by Shelby Barone. Shelby is a stay-at-home Mom to three precious kids ages 6, 4 and 1. She was a preschool teacher for 6 years before she retired to stay home to raise her children.

She first started making felt stories in college. Sheenjoyed making them so much, that she would make them for all the teachers and classroom's at the school where she taught. She continued to read to her own children with felt pieces. They have enjoyed learning with my felt board stories, that she wanted to share them with other's.....that is when Glitterful Felt Stories began.

Her hope is that your children will enjoy them and they will help get them excited about reading!

HELP! The Big Bad Ugly Flu Bug That Drags On & Ooonnnn!

We have experienced at our house a new flu strain and its ugly & NOT THE H1N1 SWINE FLU!

AND I AM EXHAUSTED!

This is a flu with several stages and as the flu does, it affects everyone differently. My 9 year old son got the worst of it. It started as a sinus type of cold went away, a couple days later got what seemed like a 24 hour flu and it was the most violent flu I have ever seen. My poor guy had never been soooooo sick. Any minute amount of water that hit his system for just under 12 hours violently came back up with the dry heaves coming on for several minutes after. There were things just pouring out of his little body. In the 11^th hour he finally started retaining liquid before he was going to have to go to the hospital so we could get an IV in him so he could get some fluids in his system.

I found myself becoming borderline hysterical because I couldn’t help my child. This is quite silly given the fact that I coach parents through these situations all the time being a Wellness Coach. I had to stop regroup and talk myself through my hysteria and get to work on finding something to help my child. With all of my education and tricks I have learned I found myself helpless. Most everything just didn’t work but what did work in the end were some very simple things. In desperation I put 2 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil in a Tablespoon of Olive Oil and massaged it gently into his feet. The nausea slowly wore down. Whether it was truly a result of the Peppermint Essential Oil I don’t know. Theory is that we absorb things into our body most quickly through the bottoms of our feet I would love to believe it was the Peppermint Essential Oil. The other thing I did was take 3 separate tea bags and made a large pot of tea for us all to drink and he could keep that down. Woo Hoo!!! So, I made popsicles, ice cubes, and gave him an ounce to drink every 1 to 2 hours. He sucked on the ice cubes and popsicles in between. The 3 teas I used were made by Traditional Medicinals and they were 1 Peppermint Tea Bag, 1 Elderberry Echinacea Tea Bag, and the other was the Lavender Chamomile Tea Bag. This was my best tool for this flu!

This flu had been surging through my son’s school and I received a phone call from the school nurse asking me to keep him home for a few more days. This was because this flu had several stages and they believed there were about 3 stages. I did and kept up the tea regimen and he sailed through and did not get the 3^rd stage and now is back in school. None of us had the full blown version that my son experienced and we all pray we don’t. My family is sold on this tea combo and we are still drinking it! So, I want to pass it on! Again, here is the Recipe/Blend…

1 Large Tea Pot

1 Tea Bag of Organic Peppermint Tea

1 Tea Bag of Lavender Chamomile Tea

1 Tea Bag of Echinacea Elderberry Tea

And Just Make A Pot Of Tea. I recommend you steep your tea for at least 10 minutes. However, at my house we love a strong cup of tea and steep our teas for approx. 15 minutes!

Elderberry is known for stopping inflammation in its tracks. It is well known for treating arthritis and influenza. Elderberry is known for its effectiveness in fighting off 8 strains of influenza. Beeswax candles have been used since the beginning of time and are far healthier to burn than paraffin. Paraffin is a by- product of petroleum and paraffin has only been used for candle making in relatively recent times. Paraffin candles emit gases, soot, and up to 11 documented toxins when burned. “My PMT usually includes a full 24 hrs of abdominal pain and a fair dose of impatience and I usually need to either have up to 8 panadol, (which I avoid because it makes my skin break out big time), or Natural Pain Patches, which generally work but cost a bomb. Where do I start with this product review? There are so many different and unique features of this cream from www.vitalearthtraditions.com!

This is a most deliciously thick and rich cream, just divine for the cooler weather now my skin has started to dry out. Along with a thick cream like this I sort of expected it to be a bit greasy, like a body butter usually is. But its not! You can just smooth it on and it soaks in leaving your skin feeling gorgeous.

The ingredient list on the back of the bottle is just amazing. No wonder it leaves my skin feeling so lovely!! From Aloe Vera Gel, to 10 different oils, to rose water, to essential oils – Wow! A lot of research has obviously gone into the ultimate ingredients for a body lotion.

To wrap up this review I need to tell you about the scent of this lotion – White Tea & Ginger. It is JUST GORGEOUS. My take on it is that it is earthy, rich, slightly sweet, slightly citrusy, slightly oriental White Tea with under-tones of ginger. To me it would be ideal to wear when pregnant or just had a new baby, you know when you can’t bear the smell of perfume but you still want to smell delicious and feminine. This would have been perfect in my books! It is a very unique scent that just seems to work perfectly!

Bitch Balance Butter

Using this very unique vitalearthtraditions product was a lush experience of being pampered. This product gives you the impression that it has been carefully prepared by a creator who has put a lot of care and attention into it. The packaging is very well designed, and the contents have a divine aroma. I wondered if it would work on my mood and those of the other beautiful people around me. Stress and tension can ruin your day, cause headaches and make your body feel tired and achey.

After one small application of ‘Bitch Balance Butter’, I felt the tension melt away! So, I tried it on my friends who appeared to sleep a lot better that night. I believe that this is a product that would certainly give the commercial products a run for their money! For me, ‘Bitch Balance Butter’ was a luxurious experience, but also therapeutic which means that it has a two-fold effect. It was nourishing to the skin, aromatic and warming when applied. The fragrance lasted a long time, and this is probably where the secret to the aromatherapy blend lies. The longer you can connect with the fragrance, the longer you feel it working, not just medicinally , but emotionally, having a positive effect upon your mood as well!

I would recommend this product to all stressed woman, and suggest that you try it on your friends! You won’t look back!

Recycled Fabric Tote Bag - Moschino @ 'Your Cheeky Monkey'

When I first saw the ‘denim totes’ available for women at ‘Your Cheeky Monkey,’ I instantly wanted one! Being the ‘Imelda Marcos of bags’, I knew straight away that that these were unique, chic and very LA cool. Monique Nickalls, designer of kids clothing & toys, mumpreneur & ‘YCM’ owner, immediately suggested that I wait as she was constructing four unique totes made from genuine MOSCHINO recycled cotton jeans. Oh, I was like a kid waiting or Christmas! As you can see from the pic, the Moschino makes up the quirky front panel and the sides, bottom and back of the tote are from animal print upholstery off-cuts, giving my tote a luxurious, velvety, winter feel. The bag lining is 100% cotton quilting Cheetah Swirl fabric, in a gorgeous silver/grey/taupe colour. The only ode to this being from a ‘kids label’ is the cute ‘doggy button toggle’ between the handles, which works with the quirkiness of this piece!

Handmade by Monique, the craftsmanship is superb and has banished any thoughts of 'handmade equals second best' from my mind once and for all! The ‘Your Cheeky Monkey’ label inside the tote gives the bag a professional finish, as do the ‘Your Cheeky Monkey’ care instructions. My tote is roomy without being obscenely large, dimensions being approx. 32cm W x 29cm H x 9cm D.

If you are a woman who loves the ease of entry and exit of items into a bag, you will love this one. I took it as my ‘afternoon bag’ on a recent hospital stay and 12 handy items, including a book and small items of clothing were easily accommodated...mind you I nearly lost it five times to Nurses! It could easily double as a ‘tres cool nappy bag’; it’s comfortable to wear and in my book, ticks all of the boxes.
